Description de l'offre
This upcoming opportunity for a postdoctoral position researcher is currently available in the vicinity of Paris, France. Specifically, this position is based at the University of Paris-Saclay, strategically located just 25 kilometers southwest of the city center of Paris. The candidate will become an integral part of a prestigious research endeavor led by the Commissariat à l’Energie Atomique et aux Energies Alternatives (CEA), focused on the comprehensive investigation of materials capable of emitting electrons.
As a Postdoctoral researcher at CEA, the goal of the proposed research is :
- To investigate, analyse and understand the physics and performances of field emission materials under extreme high electric field (static & dynamic field
regimes) - Collaborate with our team to explore novel research directions. This includes the use of dielectric coatings, low-dimensional materials, and smart surface nanostructuring techniques to enhance local optical fields
- To move beyond electronic emission from conducting materials by investigating the phenomenon of optical breakdown in dielectric media
- Investigated under real operating conditions via the use of an adapted surface technique, namely the photoemission electron microscopy (PEEM) / low energy electron microscopy (LEEM)
- Conduct research at various scales, including spatial (nanometers), spectral (millielectronvolts), and temporal (femtoseconds). This multidimensional approach will provide valuable insights into the behavior of materials under extreme conditions
Profil du candidat
Candidate profile :
A doctoral degree in physics or chemical physics within the past two years, with a proven capacity for world-class research in nano-optics, high field physics, laser optics or related fields.
Experience in electron microscopies (SEM, TEM, PEEM, LEEM) and ultra-short pulsed lasers is much welcome, but not required.
Excellent writing skills in English and oral fluency are a must.
